{"id":789,"date":"2016-01-31T18:22:15","date_gmt":"2016-01-31T18:22:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lisbonclassics.com\/?p=789"},"modified":"2020-07-22T12:43:58","modified_gmt":"2020-07-22T12:43:58","slug":"uma-historia-de-sucesso","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/lisbonclassics.com\/en\/2016\/01\/31\/uma-historia-de-sucesso\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8221;A life on wheels&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Son of a psychiatrist completely in love with cars, from a very early age, I remember to sit on his lap driving the huge American cars he liked so much.<br \/>\nSo, it was perfectly natural that, shortly after\u00a0I took\u00a0my driving license,\u00a0to have\u00a0entered the world of motor racing. I started with the \u00abgimkhanas\u00bb, but very quickly I was encouraged by many to move on to the next step, namely the rallies. However, my passion for speed has led me to compete for several years,\u00a0in circuits,\u00a0hill climbs and the previously mentioned rallies. Then came the most diverse trophies\u00a0from the most varied brands.<br \/>\nI don&#8217;t like to talk about myself, nor to praise myself, which is why I show you by images some of my participation in racing events.<br \/>\nAll this activity in car racing, had to be framed in my professional life, that is, my other passions, hotels and restaurants. Had to adapt\u00a0also to various periods in which I lived outside Portugal, such as the five years in London.<br \/>\nI&#8217;ve always felt a great desire to have several\u00a0classic cars. I consider them to be some of the most beautiful works of art, which Man has designed and made. They have the enormous advantage, as opposed to more static ones, of being able to be\u00a0driven and appreciated, in different environments and landscapes, in the company of whom we want.<br \/>\nI also have the deep conviction, that we are mere temporary owners of these fantastic works of art, and that we must cherish them, maintain and care until their next owner takes possession.<br \/>\nI feel, therefore, perfectly accomplished, by the many and beautiful classic\u00a0cars\u00a0I have had,\u00a0that I do have and which I hope I may still have.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div
